TERMS AND CONDITIONSDriving Licences.
You must produce your driving licence on your first lesson (either provisional or full) and at any time when requested thereafter. If you hold a new style driving licence both parts must be produced. You must also be able to read a number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet) using your glasses or contact lenses if normally worn.
Payments.
Lesson payments should be made at the beginning of each lesson.
Punctuality.
After arriving at your nominated pick up point for your lesson but there is no reply at the address in question, we will wait approximately 10 minutes. If after 10 minutes, you have not made contact or we are unable to reach you, the lesson will be abandoned and you will be required to pay for the lesson in question.
For safety reasons, all pupils must ensure that mobile phones are switched off for the duration of the lesson. Due to recent changes in the law, our Instructors will not use a mobile phone whilst the car is moving on a driving lesson.
Any pupil may be refused a driving lesson if the Instructor has reason to believe that the pupil is under the influence of alcohol or drugs and the lesson will still be charged for at the full rate.
Keys to Freedom driving school accepts no liability for personal property that is left in the training vehicle.
Lesson Cancellation.
To be fair to us, please give us a minimum of 24 hours notice should you need to change or cancel a lesson. This is due to the effect on instructors’ livelihoods and could be denying another client the opportunity for a lesson that they desperately want. Any lessons cancelled within this period must be paid for in full before any further lessons will be booked.
Pupils must advise their instructor of any medication or prescription drugs they are taking that may affect their ability to drive safely before taking any lesson booked.
While every care will be taken to ensure pupils receive training at the requested time, all bookings are made on the understanding that the School is not responsible for the postponement of training due to traffic conditions, adverse weather conditions, mechanical breakdown of equipment or any other cause outside of our control.
Keys To Freedom Driving School cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred as a result of the postponement of any lessons, for whatever reason.
The Instructor may refuse to carry on giving a pupil driving lessons without notice if the Instructor is not satisfied with a pupil’s conduct or commitment throughout the lessons. A pupil will be denied entry into the driving school vehicle if they are wearing soiled clothing or muddy work boots and the lesson will still be charged for at the full amount.
If a pupil is required to wear glasses or contact lenses whilst driving and he/she fails to wear them on a driving lesson, then the lesson will be cancelled with full charge to the pupil.
Use of the vehicle for the Driving Test
If a pupil has entered for a driving test and does not keep up to date with their lessons prior to the test, or if in the opinion of the Instructor the pupil does not reach the required standard or is not safe to proceed with the test, the Instructor reserves the right to refuse the use of the tuition vehicle for the driving test, In which case the Instructor will not be liable for any loss of test fees.
The school cannot be held responsible for Test Appointments being postponed or cancelled by the Driving Standards Agency. Furthermore we are not responsible for any failure of light bulbs etc during the Practical test.
Provided the pupil is in possession of a valid driving licence and is accompanied by, or under the direction of a Driving Standards Agency A.D.I or approved DSA Examiner, all Keys To Freedom cars are fully insured for tuition and driving tests.
The instructor will make every effort to train you to the highest standard but can in no way be held liable for any errors you commit whilst driving and unaccompanied by your instructor either before, during or after a test pass.
All question papers, handouts, books, C.D. ROMs and relevant materials remain the property of Keys To Freedom Driving School.(If not returned on request a fee will be charged).
